This weekend was a double whammy to the heart. After thirteen weeks, my internship with Rigor at the wonderful Atlanta Tech Village comes to a close, and my spectacular time living with Chintan, Jay, and William is finally up. After these thirteen weeks, I have some thoughts to share. I might write about them in more detail later, but for now, Id simply like to say one thing: at least once in your life, work at a startup. Every single day, I wrote and shipped production code. I didnt just watch twelve people build a company. I helped them do it. You will never feel more significant at a workplace than at one whose product you can point to and say, I built that. The amount of true passion and enthusiasm that my team had for creating their own success story was mind-bending and infectious - unlike the corporate dead weight youll work with (and sometimes end up being) at a large company, every single person at a startup puts 110% into ensuring the company thrives and has a bright future, because they genuinely care for their mission. And thats what matters. Seeing this drive reflected in my roommates and their startup simply doubled my exposure to the insane amount of determination in the entrepreneurial world. When you live and breathe passion for what you do, the meaning of your life becomes clear to you. Do work that you care about, and never settle. If you dont build your own dream, someone else will hire you to build theirs.
