This year we are going to be helping out Michigans Military and Space Museum with their Send Santa to the Troops event. For every 5 non-perishable items you bring in you will receive either a $5.00 gift certificate or a free eybrow wax. Some items to consider bringing in would include: instant oatmeal, canned soups and stews, cracker packs, peanut butter, chocolate candy, hard candy, mints and gum. They would also enjoy downtime activities such as cards, puzzle books, dvds, cds, and board games. (No books or magazines due to postage rates). Information on Send Santa to the Troops : Our Send Santa to the Troops Veterans Day Event schedule will start early. Heres what you can expect on November 11: 9 a.m. - Guests can begin arriving. Well have the coffee and donuts ready! 9:30 a.m. - Welcome and presentation of the Action Track Chair to paralyzed veteran Mike Harris (chair donated and purchased by Lighthouse Rehabilitation Center) 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. - Santa will be here at Michigans Own in his camo suit for photos! Informational tables will be available with handouts for veterans Museum admission will be FREE all day! 5 p.m. - Tribute to museum founder Stan Bozich 5:30 p.m. - Closing ceremonies will begin culminating in a ceremonial flag retirement, with the Boy Scouts assisting, ending with a 21 gun salute and Taps. Come out and support our troops with Michigans Own on Veterans Day. See you then!
