This year we are very lucky to have had Greater New Orleans Fair Housing Action Center as an ally in the fight to expand fair housing protections to include LGBT people. We have gained many allies in the legislature thanks to their hard work and perseverance. Though the committee did not pass either of the bills that would have done that, we were able to begin a dialogue about the discrimination too many of the members of our community face. We are looking forward to continuing that dialogue with allies like the GNO Fair Housing Action Center and Louisiana Progress after the session as we prepare to advocate for fairness and equality in the 2015 legislative session.
