Thornton Academy will host a Financial Fitness Fair for junior students this Wednesday, May 7th, from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. in Linnell Gymnasium to learn personal finance in an interactive way. Students have made career selections and at the fair they will be provided with the annual salary of their desired career with an assigned credit score. There will be booths set up with banking and financial professionals assisting students to decide on savings, housing, clothing, food, student loans, transportation, home furnishings and “fun” choices. This event is brought to campus through the Jobs For Maine Graduates program with assistance from Brenda Piecuch of PeoplesChoice Credit Union and Tony LeBlanc of Saco and Biddeford Savings Institution.
