Those overnight showers we had sneak across the border from - TopicsExpress

Those overnight showers we had sneak across the border from Georgia gave some of us some much needed rain..Dothan picked up 1.28. It wont solve our drought problems, but its something. An area of localized low pressured developed this morning and brought clouds to the eastern half of the area, which stifled our daytime heating, which in turn lowered our rain chances. However, folks in the western part of the area saw some more much needed rain. The atmosphere will continue to have plenty of available moisture the next several days, so scattered rain chances will continue. Tonight, unless the east coast seabreeze makes it all the way across Georgia, we wont have more late night storms. So, any rain will be ending tonight, and lows tomorrow morning will drop into the low 70s with some clouds around. Tomorrow, more scattered showers and t-storms will develop. These storms will be typical of summer, so they will be very random. Highs will reach the low 90s, with a decent amount of cloud cover for the afternoon. The rain chances stay around 40-50% thru Friday and the weekend ahead. The upper level ridge (area of high pressure) thats been over the southeast the last few days wont move, but abundant moisture in the air, rain chances will be decent. Expect highs to stay in the low 90s, with just a few spots seeing mid 90s. The showers will be random as well, so count yourself lucky if you see some rain. There is the potential for some heavy rain too, with very weak flow to push the storms in one direction or another. There isnt much change expected for the start of next work week either, so get used to a very atypical weather pattern for September.
