Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs. But I, with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. Salvation comes from the Lord. Jonah 2:8-9 When thinking of idols, I have always thought of brass statues or some sort of object that people bowed to and worshipped. But an idol is ANYTHING that we focus too much of our time and energy to. It can be relationships, job status, seeking fun all the time, even our work within our church. Anything that controls our thought life and our energy. God wants us to enjoy life and to have fun. He just wants us to let Him be in control. When we seek ONLY Him, all of our gifts become greater blessings. Great devotion today. Thanks Journey magazine!
