Thought I might share some great news with you all. I have been teaching a group of women with PTSD to tie flies and fly cast since May of this year. We have made 4 trips to the Golden Gate Casting ponds for instruction from some top notch casting instuctors. They are the only class since the original class in 2007 that have completed all 6 flies for Northern California, but they have exceeded that and gone beyond. This week enough gear was donated so that each female veteran will have a complete ensemble for fly fishing to include boots, waders, rods, reels, vests, vise and tool kit, hats booties, gloves shirts and jackets. My hat is off to these women for their committment, and for others to see that committment, reach down in their pockets and make the donations. Cudos, Hoorah!!!!!!!!!! Now they will be getting an all expenses paid trip to stay in a house on a lake with 33 rainbow trout for the fly fishing trip to begin and sustain the passion.
