Thought for the day Made in the image of God, we exist in three parts; spirit, mind and body. The spirit man is the innermost part of our being and our body is the outermost part of our being. Once our spirit man becomes quickened through the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit, we are commission to be led by the spirit and not by the flesh (body). So simple a sentence, yet doing so is often much easier said than done. Our temptation is always to rely on our flesh, invest in the material realm and perceive truth through our sensory perceptions. However, we must train ourselves to live by faith and not by sight—to believe more in things that are unseen rather than what we can see. We must be reminded that whatever troubles surround us in this life we are laying up treasures for ourselves in heaven. Though these physical bodies may be wasting away we are growing stronger, day by day, in our inward man. Whatever troubles we face are nothing compared with the glory and reward we will receive when we finish this race. In John Jesus told his disciples that in this world they would have trouble, but take heart! Our Lord has overcome the World and so shall we!
