Three times Ive had cuts to my face sewed up. Twice I was knocked - TopicsExpress

Three times Ive had cuts to my face sewed up. Twice I was knocked unconscious. Once I had tooth knocked out by being hit in the mouth by a knee. Several fingers have been dislocated. I suffered a severe ankle sprain that took months to heal. Also tore a rotator cuff. (Most people dont realize that being a pastor is a contact sport). Thats a bad joke. Actually, Ive put my body through the grind participating in several sports and am now paying the price for what I enjoyed in my younger years. That really is a lesson about life. We sometimes forget that we will reap what we sow. And that principle is not limited to spiritual matters. A person who wisely uses their money when they are young will greatly benefit when they get older. And the opposite is also true. The writer of Ecc. said that those who sow to the wind will reap the whirlwind. Time, like money, can be wisely invested or foolishly wasted. Much of the damage to my body has been repaired. But not all of it. Once again this is a lesson about life. The fact that we learn from our mistakes or receive forgiveness for our sins does not mean that we never reap what we have down. Just as I scars and other evidence of abuse to my body there are sometimes much deeper scars that are reminders of the past. Yesterday, my pastor said, Family wounds usually take the longest to heal. I encourage you to live wisely, make good investments with your time and money, take care of your health and above all seek the guidance of Gods word and Gods Spirit in all you say and do. Be blessed
