One of the perks of the wrestling business back in the day was that everybody and his brother wasnt in the business, so when you were recognized as a professional wrestler that meant something. Because I had worked on a previous Backstreet episode about wrestling, I was contacted by Backstreet and asked to be a judge in a bikini contest held at the Holiday Inn at Jacksonville Beach. We had wrestled at the Beach Flag Pavillion and actually wrestled at the Holiday Inn on the beach a year before. So I was well known at the beach as a professional wrestler There was a local radio station involved ROCK 105 and they were there broadcasting live. This was the biggest party at the beach and I was asked to be a permanent judge for the Summer after the first one because I could talk on the microphone without stuttering and I wouldnt let any words that couldnt go out over the air happen. One perk for being a judge was anything I wanted from the hotel bar was free. All drinks and food free, there was a waitress assigned to the judges. The other judges were Rick Tracy ROCK 105 and Dave Hart of Harts Surf Shop. There was a girl from ROCK 105 but I dont remember her name. Anyway, we had a table for the judges at the ROCK 105 broadcast tent, where we signed autographs and talked on the air. Honestly, this was some of the best times I had and I must have had a good time because sometimes I woke up in a hotel room, some times in a beach house and sometimes in my apartment. But I met some really good people, made friends and had some crazy things happen. I also met my girlfriend there, we dated for two years. This was 23 years ago, so if you see your grandma or your mother, maybe your great aunt in the picture dont get upset. It was a long time ago.
