#Tinkler_Wehave_turned_it_around Orlando Pirates caretaker coach Eric Tinkler believes the Buccaneers’ 4-0 demolition of Ajax Cape Town last night at Orlando Stadium is the turning point for their season. A brace from Lehlohonolo Majoro, and a goal each by Kermit Erasmus and Siyabonga Sangweni gave Pirates an emphatic victory, for their biggest winning margin so far this season. The victory ended Pirates’ four matches without a win and Tinkler says, “It was vitally important that we got this result to ensure that we turn our season around. I think this is the turning point for the team and I see us doing well for the rest of the season,” Tinkler says “We are on 22 points now after 15 matches which really means we are eight behind our target at this stage. So it’s a massive gap if I have to be entirely honest. “But it is still achievable and I explained to the players that we have two more games to go before the break, and it is vitally important that we win both games,” Tinkler says. “When I took over at the team, it was basically five games till the Christmas break. “It’s important that we got at least 10 points from the 15 available. That was the target, so we must win our next two next games to achieve that target.” This was Tinkler’s first victory since taking over from Vladimir Vermezovic earlier this month. Previously he had lost 2-0 to League leaders Kaizer Chiefs and drawn 1-1 with reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns. “It was vitally important to me … for us, to get this win under our belt. It was important for the team to really turn around what has been a bad time for the club. “I’ve seen an improvement in morale, Ive seen an improvement in the team spirit, but that could easily have changed if we had lost this match, and we could have gone back to the state that we were in.” #The_Cleaner
