Tirupanazwar Vaibhavam..... Amalanadhipiran..... (8) Alwar in this pasuram describes the Nrsimhavathara, “Pariyanahi” means taking sthula rupa, “Avunan udal keenda” tore the body of the demon, Hiranyakasipu, “Amararuku ariya” difficult to attain even for Devas, “Adhipiran” one who is the primordial being ! He is the one at Tiruvarangam, who has the dark eyes that wide, glowing, with red streaks, extended and the glorious eyes makes me go mad after Him! Though Alwar is referring to Nrsimhavathara in his pasuram, he seems to stress on the Antaryamitvam of Emperuman, as we all know that he was ready to appear for any atom of the Universal creation as he was present in the most subtlest form ever in all of them! That is why he has taken up Nrsimhavathara here and said He emerged in sthula form! This idea is clear because he calls Him Adipiran, one who is primordial. We have Vishnu sahasranama namas: “Anadhi nidanam” one who has no beginning and end! “Bhutati:” one who is the source of all phenomenal creation! “Jeshta:” one who is the oldest! Adrsya: and Vyaktharupa: are the two namas occurring one after the other meaning, that the Emperuman is not easily seen even through the mind’s eye, but he is capable of appearing in sthula rupa out of his own sankalpa! He is also called “Vrdhathma” one who is the oldest! “Durlabha:” means one cannot attain him even after taking aneka janmas or births easily, “Duravasa:” even yogis and highly accomplished Devas cannot retain him in their minds through contemplation easily! In Yoga Agna chakra is located between the two eye brows! This chakra is like a wheel with two wings on both sides! It is like brilliant suns in thousands! It is the personification of Akara rupa or Mahavishnu! Look at the verse of sage Agasthya below: Alwar by referring to the Lord as Adipiran, implies that all devatas like Sadasiva and Manonmani who reside therein are his creation! Srimad Bagavatham describes the form of Sri Nrsimha as below it says His eyes are like shining molten metal “pratapta camikara canda lochanam”: mīmāṁsamānasya samutthito ’grato nṛsiṁha-rūpas tad alaṁ bhayānakam pratapta-cāmīkara-caṇḍa-locanaṁ sphurat saṭā-keśara-jṛmbhitānanam One who attains this chakra will surpass time! This will make the sadak forget his surroundings and make him mad or drive him to ecstasy! To be continued.....
