To all my friends on Face Book, it has been a year of mixed messages. I am in my third year of retirement and still enjoying it immensely, although I wonder where I found time for work. My beautiful wife Sandra decided to take some time off work by using her long service leave so we could travel together while her old fart of a husband was still able to move around. All started out well, we teamed up with Bob, a friend we made on another ride & commenced a bicycle ride from Dubbo to Albury where Bob left us to return to Sydney by train. Lindy joined us and we spent another week or so wandering around the Victorian High Country Rail Trails. All was going well until Sandra had a couple of minor health issues which fortunately resolved themselves fairly well. We were back on our bikes & doing some regular rides around Sydney when Sandra & her bike had an altercation with a car door on a quiet suburban street & found herself laid up for almost six weeks. On the positive side, we are both still alive and kicking and at the ripe old age of 61 I have finally obtained a passport so now I can travel to The Church - Campbell Town Tasmania and maybe even further afield overseas. I have enjoyed catching up with lost acquaintances through this medium and finding out about your families and lives over the sometimes up to 45 year gaps in our lives since we were school friends. I have enjoyed the jokes, pictures and sometimes lively discussions with some friend, especially Greg, a man of great conviction in his beliefs, a hidden intellect and a good debating partner. His views are often totally opposite to mine ad the discussions robust & sometimes frustrating for both of us, but heck, what a boring life it would be if we all thought the same thing. There have been sad times, I have spoken to friends who are doing it tough both mentally and physically and I hope our interactions have helped them in some way. I now I have benefited from their contact and comments. There are some I know very well & I admire their courage in facing their demons every day. Please keep strong & talk to somebody if it gets too bad. Now many of you know my religious beliefs, but if you find solace in your god and the writings in books such as the Bible or Quran, then that is a good thing. Please keep believing. In the meantime, keep well, be safe over this time of the year and I look forward to speaking with or actually catching up in person in the New Year. In the meantime, here is a carol to annoy you, oops sorry, for you to enjoy. https://youtube/watch?v=xsDqq0dngVc
