To all of my Facebook friends.....This is to let you know that My page Conservative Veterans for America, that I founded, was stolen today by a very talented swindler. the following is how it went down: Conversation started today David R. Wilson 5:17pm David R. Wilson Hi David, I need to speak with you urgently about a partnership that my employer is interested in entering into with you. We help conservative Facebook pages grow, develop content, and reach more like-minded people. This is a very time-sensitive issue, so please message me privately ASAP. John, returning your message. Dave Wilson John Lyles 5:22pm John Lyles Hi Dave, thanks for getting back to me so soon. First, let me introduce myself: My name is John, and I work in DC in the field of communications strategy and marketing for conservative organizations and causes. The main thrust of my work is in digital marketing, via Facebook, Twitter, etc. I am currently an admin at a relatively large conservative-leaning Facebook page, and as part of our current marketing campaign, we are helping smaller Facebook pages get over the 100K like threshold so that the 12% algorithm works for them and not against them. Basically, Facebook has recently instituted new policies in regards to pages, and it is now much harder for smaller pages to get over the 100K threshold due to this algorithm. What most people dont know however, is that larger pages get ad credits for certain actions, and these credits can be transferred to other pages through the admin. Our current campaign involves using these ad credits to help other like-minded pages get above the 100K threshold. We have found that the credits are not as effective for us, but they are extremely helpful to pages of your size. John Lyles 5:23pm John Lyles I reached out to you because your page is one of the ones to which we would like to extend the offer of using our credits to grow your page, completely free of charge to you. We simply cannot use them, and want to see them used to help others. Is this something you would be interested in? I guarantee that we can get you above 75,000 likes in about 2 weeks time. David R. Wilson 5:27pm David R. Wilson Yes, John I certainly would be interested. What does this entail? John Lyles 5:31pm John Lyles Because the ad credits can only be transferred through my personal admin account, I would simply need you to make me an admin of the page so that I can assign the credit to your account, set up the ad geared towards page likes, and then you can remove my authority as an admin. At that point, the credit will be assigned to your specific page and ad campaign. The entire process will take about 15 minutes in total David R. Wilson 5:34pm David R. Wilson Sorry, No can do. I dont know you at all. If I make you an administrator, you can take over my page and delete me from it. Not a safe or smart thing for me to do. John Lyles 5:35pm John Lyles I can understand your hesitancy. If you would like, I can send a screenshot of ad campaigns that I have set up for others pages in the past for verification that I am not trying to scam you. David R. Wilson 5:36pm David R. Wilson Okay! John Lyles 5:37pm John Lyles Also, I can get you in contact with another page that I have recently set up a campaign for as well so that you can verify that I only need to be an admin for 15 minutes. This page removed me as an admin after the campaign was running, and he can vouch for me. Give me a second to find that screenshot David R. Wilson 5:38pm David R. Wilson Okay John Lyles 5:39pm John Lyles In the meantime, the page I was talking about is https://facebook/pages/Rep-Trey-Gowdy-for-Speaker-of-the-House/284522385033376, the owner said he would be more than happy to speak with you. His name is Thomas and he said just shoot the page a message if you want to verify This attachment may have been removed or the person who shared it may not have permission to share it with you. David R. Wilson 5:48pm David R. Wilson Do you know Suzanne Davis, and can she verify you? John Lyles 5:49pm John Lyles I know that we are mutual friends on Facebook, but I do not know her personally. John Lyles 5:50pm John Lyles Ok, I am sending along a screenshot of a campaign I set up for a 2nd Amendment page back in February. This screenshot is the results of stage 1 of the campaign. The first stage was a $100 credit, and the entire buy by the end of the campaign was $900 I believe. It rendered around 45,000 likes John Lyles 5:50pm John Lyles John Lyles 5:55pm John Lyles And here is a screenshot of a campaign I set up in June for a veterans page. It was a $500 credit and these were the results of the first $100 John Lyles 5:55pm John Lyles John Lyles 6:05pm John Lyles Has Thomas gotten back to you? David R. Wilson 6:06pm David R. Wilson Yes he has. Im thinking about it. Im an old man. I dont make hasty decisions. John Lyles 6:07pm John Lyles Haha, I understand that Dave. Are there any other questions I can answer for you? David R. Wilson 6:08pm David R. Wilson Yes...wouldnt you have the same ability to set up this as an advertiser? John Lyles 6:10pm John Lyles Unfortunately not, the nature of the ad credit requires it to be transferred to another page solely through administrator status. I have tried to work around this problem before, but have not found any way to do it. I I were just running your advertising for you, then yes, it would work. David R. Wilson 6:12pm David R. Wilson Okay! I will take a chance. If I lose my page, I will go back to playing solitaire. John Lyles 6:13pm John Lyles I promise you wont regret it Dave Do you know how to edit the page roles? David R. Wilson 6:19pm David R. Wilson Yes I can either add you by email address or as a friend. I sent you a friend requesty John Lyles 6:19pm John Lyles I just confirmed it David R. Wilson 6:23pm David R. Wilson You are an administrator John Lyles 6:24pm John Lyles Just saw that. Give me about 15 minutes to assign the ad credit and get the campaign going, then I will tell you that you can remove me David R. Wilson 6:24pm David R. Wilson Okay. Seen 6:24pm You cannot reply t after that I no longer had control of the page
