To my chagrin, I find myself making requests of God more often - TopicsExpress

To my chagrin, I find myself making requests of God more often than I praise and thank Him for His mercy, grace, salvation, goodness, and the plethora of manifold blessings I take for granted. For many of us, the eonomic situation in America (and around the world) has not negatively impacted our fnancial state. Matter of fact, some of us are better off today than we were before the financial debacle. I, too often, forget that 1 out of 3 Americans live at or below the poverty level. I forget that most of the poor, homeless, and hungry in the U.S. are children. I forget that many people around the world would be overjoyed to live in some of our garages because abject poverty is their reality. Although I am a staunch believer in the "sovereignty of God" and I know "the poor will always be among us," I know the Almighty wants me to be generous (and wise) with the resources He has bestowed upon me. Let thanksgiving be a larger part of our devotional lives. This will have a positive influence on our giving.
