Today I acknowledge my people, my family and my Aboriginal community past and present as we as a race and culture have survived hence today being known as Survival Day to us. I must acknowledge mostly my ancestors who fort the losing fight against the violent invaders. In the spirit of reconciliation I also acknowledge my non Aboriginal family and friends who know and think of today as Australia Day. A day of celebration. Celebrate it if u wish but all I ask is that you acknowledge the black history of today and also share a thought to my ancestors who were slaughtered for the takeover of this beautiful country. We went from a nation of approximately 700,000 to 98,000 at 1900 and by 2021 we are expected to fully recover. Not to mention all the hundreds of language groups and nations within the nation. All this was wiped out. WE HAVE SURVIVED!!
