Today I gave an address to the inaugural members of WQOM (Queen of Martyrs) 1060 Club on the Ten Challenges Pope Francis has made to all Catholics in his first 18 months. We cover the challenges to leave our comfort zones to bring the Gospel to the existential peripheries; to proclaim the kergyma first and foremost, to overcome the cancer of clericalism; to make a mess, takes some risks and get muddy; to receive and share Gods mercy; to prevail over a personal and globalized indifference to become true Good Samaritans; to confront our spiritual worldliness; to defeat the ferocious idolatry of money that leads to a culture of waste; to curb the temptation to turn our faith into an ideology; to triumph over the destructive culture of gossip. These are all challenges that are part of the reform of the Church hes leading, in which hes calling us to participate.
