Today, I helped to launch the 2014 Catholic Charities Appeal, the single largest annual fundraising effort within the Archdiocese. Every year, the Appeal provides help and gives hope to more than 200,000 people across our region, regardless of their faith. At this morning’s press conference I was joined by Mr. Jim Quinlan, President of the Catholic Charities Appeal Board and Mr. Joseph Sweeney, Secretary for Catholic Human Services. In addition, we had the honor of hearing from Mrs. Trish DiGiuseppe. Trish told the inspiring story of her daughter Shannon who is in the third grade at Saint Lucy Day School for Children with Visual Impairments, which is one of four Schools of Special Education in the Archdiocese.
