Today I read Exodus 9 and this is the lesson I learned. Their were times when God hardened pharaohs heart and times when he hardened his own. And the reason was explained in this chapter which was to prove to the Egyptians and to the Hebrews the Yahweh is God. So he hardened pharaohs heart to so that he may demonstrate his power to him however then God gives him a chance saying will you obey me now? Thats when Pharaoh hardens his own heart and says no. The lesson here is sometimes God brings us through hard times to get our attention in order to make us see our dependence on him. And depending how stubborn you are it could take only one trial or a lifetime of trials. So if you have strayed dont harden your heart anymore, go back to God things may not get easier but at least with God you dont have to handle things alone.
