Today at Make Your Mark we welcomed the Red Bank Elementary Lego League, consisting of fourth and fifth grade aspiring engineers. Saturday they have a Lego League competition and so we helped prepare them by asking tough questions that they will face as they compete. Their overall presentation focused around a video game design that will help kids learn a second language. In this case it is Spanish. At Red Bank we have a Spanish Immersion program where parents can sign their kids up in Kindergarten to learn science and math in Spanish and take language arts and social studies in English the second half of the day. These kids go through elementary school learning this way. It is a phenomenal program. Our principal, Ms. Watson, also stopped by to share an encouraging word with the students. After the Lego team and Ms. Watson left, we surprised the Lego team by making them individual good luck cards. During the academic hour our friends from Michelin returned to help mentor. Thursday we are looking forward to our field trip to Epworth Childrens Home. We reached our goal of 80 brand new comforters! #Running
