Today at approximately 12:30 PM an off-duty Sheriff Deputy observed possible door knock burglary suspects jumping a wall of a house in the area of Clark Street and Winnetka Ave. The off-duty Sheriff followed the suspects that were driving a black Hyundai Elantra and tinted windows. LAPD Officers caught up to the off-duty Sheriff and suspects vehicle at the 405 freeway and Wilshire St. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle that failed to yield. Officers became involved in a pursuit and the suspects fled the vehicle on foot. West LA and Topanga officers contained the area and arrested a Female driver and two Male passengers. Officers recovered numerous items of stolen property from the car and items that suspects tossed from the window during the pursuit. Officers investigation revealed that suspects were tied into a string of burglaries in the valley, including the communities of Woodland Hills and West Hills. Suspects (Door-Knock Burglars) have prior arrests for committing burglaries and are being arrested for numerous counts of residential burglary for todays incident and prior incidents in Topanga Division.
