Today is Thursday. Jesus sends the disciples to make ready for the Passover meal. In the evening, Jesus celebrates the Passover meal, but institutes what will become the Lords Supper, the Eucharist, or Communion to Christians. Jesus gives what is known as The Upper Room Discourse. Jesus declares the bread to represent His body, and the cup to represent His blood--the blood of the New Covenant between God and man. Afterwards, Jesus will take His disciples to Gethsemane, where He will pray, be arrested, and taken to Caiaphas house to begin the Passion. It is Thursday, but Sunday is coming!
