Today is my Anniversary with my lovely wife, Debbie I have been blessed with having her be my life for 20 years. So I would like to share "what is Marriage". God created Adam, then he created Eve to be his helper. That should say it all, but many do not get it. We are told a good wife is better than rubies. The bible tells us a man will leave father and mother to cleave to his wife. This does not mean to be close sometimes, or to hold on when you think about it. No this means like if you are drowning, and someone comes to save you. . .you hang on to them as if your very life depends on it. The Apostle Paul compared the relationship between husband and wife to that between Christ and the church. Marriage is a man and woman to share the same type of pure, Christian love centered on Christ. Corinthian 13:4-8 explains, Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails… This kind of love honors God, this kind of love can hold more joy, fulfillment and happiness than either life alone. My confession: I think I stumble more than most, but when I do, I confess and turn to the bible. It is the best self help book on every topic ever written.
