Today is my Mother in Law, Sandra Baldwins birthday. If you have never gotten to know her, you are missing out on knowing an amazing woman. She came from the shores of Santa Cruz, California, went to the heart of the jungles in Guatemala and Belize, bore the heat of New Mexico, cooled off in the foothills of the California Sierras, endured the blistering heat and tropical disease in Thailand and retired to the flats of Utah, all of this with 4 or 5 kids in tow with a challenging husband (who knows he is a challenge and I love him) and in obedience to God and without selfish ambition. She does not have a cheerful disposition and she does not mince words, there is a sun kissed California girl in her that loves to skinny dip, wear big hats, have pretty nails and sing. She came from a worldly family and hopped on a bus and went to church and gave her heart to Jesus as a young girl and has never taken her hand from the plow. She is one of the strongest women I know, and the best Grandma in creation. When I have the honor of making her feel good or if I make her laugh, it is one of the best feelings on earth. If ever I have known a Proverbs 31 woman, it is her. Her Children do call her Blessed. I love you Sandy, happy birthday.
