Today is my mothers birthday. She is a classy and special lady. She is my first role model to whom I look up all my life and whom I deeply adore. She first discovered my hearing loss within one week after my birth while she vacuumed. I didnt respond to the sound of vacuuming while I was asleep on the couch. She repeatedly vacuumed by me, and I didnt respond and was still asleep. She poured out tears afterwards. Both of my parents started my hearing aids when I was five months ago. There I started picking up the sound. My hearing couldnt grasp the words people spoke to me. She taught me to speak and communicated with me about reasonings very early (asking why and answering reasons). Very determined, she researched and studied about the hearing loss since having a BA in Education, she was a school teacher and was known an outstanding teacher in Fairfax County in early 1960s. She gave me no special treatments during my upbringing as she raised me a very normal daughter as any other daughters. Of course, she spanked and rebuked me whenever I didnt heed my mothers strict rules. Smiling. Bless her sweet and gentle soul! She got me into taking dancing lessons (ballet, tap, and jazz) when I was four and into piano lessons when I was nine. I was able to play Beethovens Moonlight Sonata and played it last more than ten years ago. I have a Baldwin piano at my home that continues to warm my heart. So many more....until last July 2014, my mother was very proud to have seen me getting the Bronze Medal Award for advancing equality through excellence at EEOC. Her tears rolled down. Throughout my life, my mother taught me about Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior God and the importance of being his disciple while having compassion on people, for those have adversities, especially on the poor. Happy Birthday, extraordinary mama!!!! I love you very much!
