Today on the auspicious occasion of Deepawali, accept my Heartiest Greetings and Best Wishes to all of you and your family. Deepwali, a festival of lights-the light that gives inspiration to move ahead in life with full joy and energy, holds special significance. The significance lies in the fact that it guides our soul to walk the path of lightness which is a metaphor for knowledge and shed all the inhibitions of darkness, which represents ignorance. Every Diwali we pledge to start afresh with new ideas and carry forward good things of past with all the blessings of Lord Ganesha. We clean our houses, perform puja and pledge to walk the path of truth and pray for the prosperity and happiness of near and dear ones. This Diwali I would like my fellow countrymen to take one more pledge, the pledge to keep clean our neighbourhood, our streets, our city and so on. Just like we vow to keep clean our surroundings and our innerself on this auspicious occasion, we should equally treat entire country as our very own home and nuture it for common good so that prosperity and knowledge continues to be bestowed by Maa Lakshmi and Maa Sarswati on Bharat Mata. In the end I would like to thank and congratulate BJP Karol Bagh Mandal and BJYM for carrying out a mass cleanliness drive Jan Chetna Yatra in which school children also participated and showed their resolve for Swachh Bharat. This Clean India Mission is the joint responsibilty of all Indians irrespective of caste, creed and religion. Everyone is a student with his/her amount of contribution as homework towards the cause of Swachh Bharat. This is the message Jan Chetna Yatra spread among the masses of Karol Bagh.
