Today on the docket: On June 25th at 1pm, the Spoken Word Club of Laguna Woods is featuring Irena Praitis, professor of literature and creative writing at California State University, Fullerton. Dr. Praitis was a Fulbright Scholar to Vilnius, Lithuania, in the spring of 2005. She translates Lithuanian poetry into English and her poetry translations have appeared in Rhino, The International Poetry Review, Buckle &, Visions International, Absinthe, and Basalt. Her poetry books include Branches (D-N Publishing, 2007), Touch (Finishing Line Press, 2004), and the forthcoming One Woman’s Life (Diversion Press). The Spoken Word Club of Laguna Woods is a place for poets, writers and storytellers to read their writings and develop new material.
