Update 10-12-14 I am a couple days late but we went for the results of the neuro psych evaluation on Friday. She still has a long way to go. Doctor Ramirez is a great lady and very straight forward. Lorie still has a way to go with the memory and other things so at this time vocational rehab is not recommended. I knew the trauma Lories brain suffered was bad but those first few month after the accident when all the doctors were explaining it, it all didnt soak in because it was such an emotional time. We have a list of recommendations to do, getting her on a regular schedule with her daily routine. Going to bed, waking up, shower, brushing teeth, etc. Continuing the Lighthouse if possible ( our next step was vocational/rehab ), getting her into places for volunteer work (supervised) She gave us the number to United Way of Tampa Bay so we will be busy making phone calls this week to see what we can get. Lorie has come a long way and I know she will do great, she has already improved more than the doctors thought she would by this time and she will continue to do so. We will never give up hope on any of it. We go back in a year for another evaluation. She was at 9% the first eval and 37% this one. Lorie brought to my attention yesterday that she is now has central vision, she was only seeing on the right side. She is still only seeing shadows but that is wonderful news, she goes back to the eye doctor on the 24th so we are all excited for the visit to see what the field test shows. We are also gonna see if we can get her into his office to do the vision activities, its not close but are willing to do the drive. Thank you all for your support and please keep the prayers coming for her.
