Today was a history lesson day! We toured President Jefferson & President Monroes homes. Ash Lawn-Highland is Monroes Home & Monticello is Jefferson home. They are very different from each other, Monticello is very elaborate and Ash Lawn-Hightland is a very simple home, much like what we had when we were young kids. Two interesting facts, these two gentlemen were very close friends and only lived 2 1/2 miles apart, even though Jefferson was 15 years older than Monroe. Also they both died on July 4th! Many years apart thought.
