Today was amazing: My bird flies! Hung my huge wooden bird skeleton on campus this evening between two trees in the main parking lot, right up until the sun set. Waking at sunrise to work on the weaving and gathering of the four foot leaves that grow at the swamp to make the tail plume and reeds from the swamp to make the feathers on the body and wings. Once the bird is fleshed with natural materials, the idea is to take a picture each day, from the same position, as the reeds and leaves die and wither away. Eventually, revealing the wooden skeleton again once the trees it hangs from lose theirs as well. Pictures to come, video time-lapse early next year. Totally got voted on as the president of the art club! So many great students are a part of it this semester, and Im completely grateful to know they have my back and I have theirs. Seriously want this semester to be fully packed with productivity and art awareness. Be well all, I had to share the stellar day!
