Todays update from Dees daughter, Shannon: UPDATE ON MY MOM, Dee: As anyone knows of someone who has battled cancer, you celebrate small and large victories. Today I celebrated my Mom waking up after being weaned off her sedation. She has to pass her alertness test to be strong enough to handle breathing on her own. Today was the first day she squeezed my hand since Mothers Day She is the most alert since she was admitted to the ICU for breathing complications. She remains in the ICU and still has a breathing tube. She still has a long way to go, but after nearly losing her, I will take any improvements and hold onto them as gifts/miracles from God. They are not going to do the bone marrow biopsy today as originally as planned. They will do it on Monday to get a more accurate result from her chemo. If they did the biopsy to soon, it could lead to a false positive. Better to wait the extended time to see if the Leukemia is in remission. She is scheduled to have her breathing tube taken out and have tracheal intubation surgery on Tuesday morning. AGAIN I BEG FOR YOUR PRAYERS FOR MY MOM, THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY WORKING! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
