Tollsfest/Open Gardens/Made in Tollesbury A Wonderful June - TopicsExpress

Tollsfest/Open Gardens/Made in Tollesbury A Wonderful June Weekend! All three events offered something for everyone – it was a great weekend to be in Tollesbury and the village was lively and buzzing with people. Despite the extremely high winds on Saturday, Tollsfest was packed and all the organisers, stall holders, performers and the audience did a sterling job in braving the elements and making the event a great success again for the village. OpeGardens attracted its normal large capacity crowd and as Jane Wells, one of the organisers said “us gardens don’t worry about the weather!” Saturday and Sunday saw people with their Open Garden programmes going from house to house and stopping off at The Lighthouse for a bit of a warm up and much needed refreshments. Made In Tollesbury set up in the Parish Rooms on the Sunday and we had a steady flow of visitors all day. It was a more low-key event than other Made in Tollesbury exhibitions but again we showed some of the creative talent in Tollesbury – a big thank you to those that took part. Look out for out stonking, not to be missed Christmas Made in Tollesbury! Jo Pavey and her team provided lunches in the Parish Rooms on Saturday and Christine Martine and her team did the same on Sunday. We seem to feed an awful lot of people! With the money that Jo and Christine made, together with the funds from the exhibitors on Sunday, Tollesbury Creative Group was able to give the Open Gardens organisers a cheque for £537.40 towards their fund raising for Farleigh Hospice. So, let’s all get behind Nick Bradshaw and his team to support the Woodrup Pool event on 31st August and enjoy once again all that Tollesbury has to offer.
