Tomorrow 100 years ago, the war to end all wars began!! Hundreds of thousands of our humble working class, very young men, and even boys fought in that war, and many thousands were killed and horribly wounded. I accept that that is an unfortunate consequence of war, what I cant accept is the fact that most of those brave boys died needlessly!! Most were sent over the top of the trenches to almost certain death, by their so called betters to become human cannon fodder!! The utter incompetence of the officer classes in that war, that sent so many of our brave boys to certain death (while they safe in bunkers) is a national disgrace!!! (And my Grandad was one of those boys, he lost his right arm in the battle of the Somme!!) I have nothing but respect, honour and gratitude for our brave lions that fought in that hideous war, and nothing but contempt, disdain and disgust for the cowards who were (allegedly) charged with leading them!! How sad is it that 100 years later, nothing has changed?? Its still lions being led by lambs. PEACE!!! xx
