Tomorrow morning I am hoping to finish my first Iron man distance - TopicsExpress

Tomorrow morning I am hoping to finish my first Iron man distance race. 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, 26.2 mile run. I just wanted to publicly thank some of the people who have helped me get to this point. Thanks for my sometime training partner and fellow racer, Bubba Gillis. Thanks to Al Alfred Olivetti and Go Tri Sports for the gear and tech support. Thanks to James Bradford and the crews at both The Bike Doctor shops. Thanks to Joe Tobin for the vicryl in my knee to help get me here in one peace. Thanks to all my coworkers at the Outpatient Surgery Center of Hilton Head and my office staff at Palmetto Anesthesia and Pain for putting up with me and my craziness. Of course, a huge thanks to my coach, Katie Malone and Malone Coaching who kept me on track and absolutely put me here with all the tools I need to complete the task both physically and mentally. And of course, thanks to the ones who are always on my mind whenever I do anything like this (and most of anything I do), my beautiful wife, Susan and my two growing up boys, Chris and Matt. So tomorrow morning when you get up, I would ask a small favor of all of you. Put your hands together or close your eyes or do whatever you do when you think mindfully of something or someone and...dont think of me! I will get through this just fine. Please send your prayers or thoughts to the people who really need it: the Wounded Warriors, the people fighting cancer or some other life threatening illness, or those among us who can barely get from the bed to the bathroom because of some chronic affliction. Or think of those who have gone ahead of us, like my dad, Bob Zitello, the bravest man I ever met, or my Uncle Junior, Frank Zitello, or my good friends, Gene Zajac or Dave Yatsco who were taken from us way to early in life. I know somewhere along my iron journey tomorrow all of those people will come to mind and I will thank God that I am able to do what I do. To those of you I havent thanked personally and have had something to do with my being here, I say thank you and Tiamo (and you know who you are). (Sorry about the long rant, I promise not to post anything more for at least a month.)
