Tonight, I shall be brash, abrasive, acerbic, incondite and blunt. - TopicsExpress

Tonight, I shall be brash, abrasive, acerbic, incondite and blunt. As some people have decided to jettison their brains, Ill assist them in looking for and re-installing it. August 2011, Crown FM came to Warri. The manager, one Okotie-Eboh, happened to be a presenter for a radio station in the UK. During the course of employment, he interviewed the likes of Mike Murdoch, Femi Ashimilowo, George Foreman (the boxer), Enoch Adeboye, a whole lot of individuals of worth and yes, Myles Munroe. He always played the tapes in the evening and without fail, I listened to them ardently. Id never really been much of the religious type but when I heard Mike Murdoch and Myles Munroe talk on the principles of Jesus (as opposed to the person of Jesus, which most pastors preach), I just knew I had to grab a sizeable chunk of their knowledge. As far as something educates me, I grab it. If the Bible, Quran, seven books of Moses or Eight hundred books of Elijah would solve my problems, I would read it. If listening to a pastor, prophet or babalawo has the propensity to rescue me from ignorance, Ill listen. Myles Munroe talked sense, so I listened. He impacted me and I was grateful for it. In fact, I read one of his books (Kingdom Principled Leadership), and I learnt quite a lot. I could murder for Jesse Jagz, but If a Munroe video was playing simultaneously with a Jagz video, Id choose the Munroes without wasting time. Thats to show how much I valued him regardless of the difference in our beliefs. So, I woke up today to the news that hed passed on and I was visibly shaken and shocked. I kept staring at his broad smile and his bright eyes and my head shook vigorously in grim negation and denial. Before I wrote my short eulogy, a dozen of people had already written theirs. Today was awash with posts about Myles Munroe, Myles Monroe, Myles Monroe. But something else happened. In Yobe, forty-seven or something students were bombed to shreds and shards. I saw just a few on the Yobe students and I knew what was coming...and sure, it did come. Some undesirable, disturbed elements cum intellectual pygmies with mangled brains, and contorted reasoning, fingers swift to mischief and faculties hard-wired to make an unbelievably convoluted nuisance of themselves took to facebook to vent their anger on why some of us chose to ignore the deceased Yobeites and instead, mourn Munroe. Some posts were just so unbelievably stupid and of course, the comments followed suit. One, who told you we had no interest in the death of those students? You see how sheer idiocy has made your brain its abode? Does our not posting it show we didnt care? There you go with your assumptions. Two, you the caring mother Theresa and the sweet father Martin Luther, how many times have you, or did you offer condolence to the victims of BH whove been bombed, maimed and brutally murdered? How many times have you posted about their untimely demise? I searched through their profiles and never for once did I see any post of such. You open your mouth to start ranting like some deranged kid seeking relevance. If youre clueless on what to say, simply shut your mouth. Better to keep quiet and be thought a fool, than speak (or post) and remove all doubts. Three, dont you hold people in high esteem than others? Myles I know of and hes impacted me, Yobeites I dont know of. Who would touch me the most? Yes! It sounds inhumane but brother, remove your sentiments and youd realise that the ones you knew or know hold more meaning than the ones you dont. Those students lost their lives, were sad. Myles passed on, were sadder. You dont come telling us who to get sadder for or what and what not to post. Feel me? KIA
