Tonight i had the pleasure to be present for a Democratic, local, fundraiser. I had no idea what exactly a freeholder did. Now i know... As he explained to me how I ( soon ... A week from now... And despite working on the books since age 14... And being legally married for 12 years ) will be without health insurance ( and unable to afford to buy it, sorry Obama, you dropped the ball... Why did we not re elect the Clintons?)..l. Can at least get a prescription drug discount card that Freeholder Ganz helped get for ALL Bergen County citizens. How inspiring to meet local politicians who CARE ... To the point of asking to find out if anyone else working there, unable to pay for insurance... could use the discount prescription card. It is A start. There are good people working in this broken system. Doing what they can to make things right. I have had the pleasure of waiting on the Ganzes before but truly was touched at the intense interest and genuine care Freeholder Ganz takes in the people he has been elected to serve. I think i will vote this year. Local government DOES matter. In fact i think they are the people who really matter... They actually talk to their constituents. And money sure aint the motivator.
