Tonights unilateral and unconstitutional action by the President -- something he’s admitted multiple times he does not have the authority to do -- is not the way to fix our immigration system. The executive branch should be working with the legislative branch, as prescribed by the Constitution, not acting alone as President Obama has done. I was looking forward to participating in a transparent and honest discussion on the issue after taking office in January, but I am disappointed that the President does not appear interested in working together with the people American voters elected to represent them in the recent election.
