Took the boys to the Skokie Exploratorium today. Climbed up in the - TopicsExpress

Took the boys to the Skokie Exploratorium today. Climbed up in the giant climber as moral support for the two-year-old. While the boys were crawling through tubes, this kid approaches me. "This may sound weird," he says, "but, would you like a hug?" "Sure," I said. So he leans toward me, says "I give great hugs," and proceeds to hug the ever lovin shit outta me, with such confidence and strength that I was taken aback a bit. Beyond impressed with the heart of this kid, I tell him, "Wow. You really do give good hugs! Thanks!" He was still in the same area of the climber when we were leaving. I shook his hand, thanked him for the awesome hug, and we introduced each other. I started crawling away and he asked me if I wanted one more hug. I smiled and said "Of course! Your hugs rock." We hugged each other so tight, we both let out a bit of a growl. He let go a bit and I gave him one more squeeze, to which he dove back into the embrace with even more enthusiasm. His last words: "have a great day!" Wow. What a refreshingly lovely and surprising gift from an extraordinary little spirit! Thanks, Ryan! You really made my day.
