Top 5 songs I loved this year #4: The Orwells and their song Who Needs You. The style of this song brought me back to music I enjoyed growing up. Its raw, energetic, and rebellious without being too over the top. Its the least polished song on my list, and it doesnt need to be for the same reasons that made bands like The Kingsmen famous. They possibly had the weirdest t.v. performance this year when they played David Letterman, and if you want to see something that is entirely incomprehensible, you should look it up! I laughed and I cant tell you why, but they are weird and thats what makes them endearing. I heard this song on an Apple commercial recently, and Im going to pull the hipster card and say that I knew about this band long before that.
