Top Issue 5. Growth: It is necessary to plan and manage growth in a sustainable way through a vision for sustaining businesses and inner city living in the CBD through collaboration with the private sector, looking at ways to share services and creating joint ventures through innovative strategies to revitalise the CBD. The CBD needs to be shopper friendly. We also need to look at options on how to fund new infrastructure driven by growth, the maintenance of current infrastructure and the increasing expectations for quality service delivery in CBD, Stoke and Tahunanui. This will be a challenge to achieve as it is also necessary to be well equipped to deal with natural disasters. Following a timely plan will encourage community participation and consultation and will ensure a sound foundation for development from the outset.
