Tornado Relief Update: There has been an outpouring of love from the community with volunteers descending upon family, friends and neighbors to help with storm related damages. In addition, There have been untold numbers of offers of all kinds to help the storm victims, with items such as food, clothing, cleaning supplies, furniture and more. At this time, there is no one location that is acting as a clearing house for these donations of food, clothing, furniture, cleaning supplies and toiletries. If you would like to help, we suggest that you make a monetary donation to several funds that have been set up to help the victims and their families. These links are shown below. 1. Open Door Church - Edenton - has designated a secure online giving tool. Once you establish an account, you can log in, and then click on the disaster relief designation. Chowan County Interfaith Disaster Recovery - They are accepting donations to help the victims. Please send your donations to their attention at PO Box 783 Edenton, NC 27932. Be sure to note storm relief in the note section of your check. 3. Greater Albemarle Area Red Cross - Donations can be made by visiting redcross.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or texting the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
