Trading reality for optimism? Who in his/her sound mind will - TopicsExpress

Trading reality for optimism? Who in his/her sound mind will trade realism for optimism? Maada’s following across the length and breadth of this country is real but for Christopher Columbus to give us even 35% of his Kambia is mere optimism. Better still, a figment of imagination or worst off, a mirage. Who was not in Freetown to witness Maada’s nomination crowd? Who did not see Maada’s march from Wallace-Johnson Street to Calabatown? Who did not see Maada in Makeni which event warranted an emergency meeting from the ruling government? Who is so blind to not have seen the mammoth crowd that graced Maada’s last rally in Freetown? Didn’t Maada beat Africa’s third richest president in communities close to his party office? Did Maada not increase campaign budget of our president? It was taunted that,Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma could go on leave out of the country close to elections if Maada is elected flag bearer of SLPP. Did we see that? No! Why? Because Maada gave him and the APC sleepless night. Short sighted individuals compare Solomon Ekuma Berewa’s 44% (an incumbent who had a moving vault) to Maada’s 38% (running against an incumbent desperate for re-election). Why didn’t EBK get even 28% when he ran against the most financially prudent politician of our times (TJK)? So what about the criticism about the 38% of Maada when even most of his party men prepared the stage for his defeat? For all I know it is the first time in Africa for a winning candidate to prioritize peace with the vanquished. If Sierra Leone had the strong institutions Obama prefers to strong leaders in Africa, the election or after election petition might have yielded a different outcome. We have held back for quite too long at not trying to pull down KYY for good reasons but his disciples think the only trade left for their recognition is to mudsling Maada. We now think the die is cast and he may receive our own insults soon. Let me at this point put under the microscope this drunkenness about KYY having the ability to change the fortunes of this country. KKY (the Isaac Newton of many mediocre) as an academic giant at Njala University College was overwhelmingly voted the president. Little did his supporters know he was “cog en pass”. It took less the few months before his inability to rule sprung. Njala University College was left with the only option of impeaching Mr. A.F. Abott. (KKY). This much taunted KKY (Albert Einstein) has first, second and PHD in Agricultural Economics, why is he not providing technical leadership in the fight to combat food insecurity in the world? Yet we are made to believe he holds everything in renewable energy. Lie! Lie! Mr Columbus is just overseeing the functions of a well defined and translated system which anybody can do. If anything to go by, how has his role at UNIDO bettered the life of any common Sierra Leonean? When did the Abraham Lincoln of Kambia do his first project in Kambia, including the “Bondo Society” thing he sponsored? Let us even say KYY or KKY is the best Sierra Leonean diplomat there can be for now. Did that retain the Paramount Chieftaincy with his family in Kambia? No! How has Isaac Newton added value to his family name in Kambia that could have helped his brother win the parliamentarian elections? Are people not putting unrealistic expectations in their support of Columbus? Look at Mr Kambia Columbus (the helicopter flag bearer); read Agric. Economic and is not given any technical help in food security but parades as a mere administrator in some established organization. He does not belong to any particular political party and has never in his life time registered of voted in this country, yet he wants to become the president. I believe there could be more to this Kandeh Kolleh Yumkellah thing than meets the ordinary eyes. The snags we hit in the last election were a product of a vicious cycle of Negative thoughts→ Negative beliefs→ Wrong decisions →Wrong actions →Continual actions →Bad habits→ Negative thoughts. Optimism they say comes with the lightening signs of goodies in changes. It tries to make you thing changes is better. But the truth is, there is loss in even positive change. So why change when the change itself is not positive? Maada has nothing but experience in overseeing political administration of Sierra Leone and providing leadership of SLPP which the helicopter flag bearer lacks. There are times when there is no adequate substitution of experience. All Maada’s doubters need is to defeat the fear they have constructed in themselves. The fear that has blurred their right thinking but if they think they still doubt him, let us maintain sanity in our campaigns till we elecet our flag bearer. We will not sit idle and see nitwits say all rubbish about a gentleman who has played a part in the achievement of the democracy we enjoy. “Maada sef na mama born nam yah”. Credit Benghazi Unit.
