Training with a coach brings a host of advantages over non-coached - TopicsExpress

Training with a coach brings a host of advantages over non-coached workouts. 1. Coaching technique: Even coaches need coaches, so it makes sense that anyone seeking to improve their level of competency in a given area should look to an outside source for help and feedback on ways to improve. Our coaches spend as much time studying technique and coaching styles as they do actually coaching the athletes. That’s a lot of PDF articles and “wham…clank…clank” videos. 2. Safety: You are pulling out of your back on your cleans. I promise. Even the best athletes let form slip when they strive for that PR or become fatigued during a long WOD. Who is holding you to proper standards? 3. Goal setting: We see a lot of people come through our doors each day. A coach has been around and know what it takes to help you achieve your potential, and moreover, we see what kind of potential you possess. 4. Direction: Our program is progressive. Our athletes continue to set personal records for a reason. Simply grabbing any old workout or writing a handful of movements down before assigning repetition schemes is not effective programming. How can you tell if your program is working or if it is garbage? Simple: Results…as in, are you seeing the results you should be seeing. 5. Results: When it comes down to it, a training program is only as good as the overall results it provides. We provide as much or as little information you request about training methods, nutrition, sleep, rest cycles, and programming cycles to help you make an informed decision based on your goals. 6. Community: Finally, CrossFit is not simply a collection of individuals huddled in corners scrolling through a workout iPod playlist, adjusting knee socks, or figuring out whether or not we should “skip leg day” (I honestly don’t even know what that means). We bring each other water or towels during the height of a difficult workout. We check up on people when they miss a regular class. We schedule events and participate in them together because we are a community.
