Treating myself to Among The Sleep on Steam, any psychological horror game that can freak you out more with surroundings & atmosphere as opposed to jump scares and grotesque monsters is a winner in my book, im super excited to play it after work tomorrow. For those who dont know, Among The Sleep is a first person horror adventure for PC & Mac (released today on Steam) and is from the perspective of a two year old toddler who wakes in the middle of the night to mysterious sounds, as he explores the house with his trusty teddybear (which he can hold for comfort & light) his perception of reality begins to twist and shift, much like a night terror (something im very familiar with). I think that not only is it a unique concept, but a way to terrify gamers indirectly. Check out the gameplay footage below and see what you guys think. I gotta say, im really enjoying this resurgence in psychological horror both in games and in horror fiction.
