Trek Day 8: KHAMBACHEN TO LHONAK (4780m) After breakfast… we started our trek to Lhonak (4780m) at 8am… due to excessive cold… From our guesthouse… walked up to the hillside following the Ghunsa Khola… As we just head up… we had a pleasant view of Jannu glacier… After 2:30 hours … came to cross a landslide… we came down almost to river bed… absolutely no trail here… just endless boulders to hop & hop…then trekked down and crossed a stream … where we viewed a stunning waterfall… continued our trek with gradually up and down by following some landslides trails… then arrived at Ramtang (4370m)… a large open valley with a few yak herders huts… Views of Mt. Chang Himal (6802m)... Ramtang Peak (6700m)… Drohma Peak (6855m) were absolutely fantastic... stopped in one of the yak herders hut for having maggi and Coffee... In the hut… we enjoyed mingling with kids of yak herders… After an hour interval here… we continued our trek by crossing a river … walked up to the valley …now the whole trail was covered with snow… finally we crossed a bridge on semi frozen river…now the world for us had transformed to Black & white… then we arrived at Lhonak… It is a nice valley … totally covered with ice… topped with soft snow…View from here was amazing… we took rooms in only hotel here owned by a lady… cooked a meal of rice & egg curry… enjoyed Rabindrasangeet, Gazal & Arijit Singh … only to receive feedback during dinner… from fellow foreigners that they like the tunes … which transported them to a new world of music… now I felt very happy… that universe used me to tie souls from different countries …
