Tuesday, January 28, 2014, 8:50 AM Areas of light snow and flurries will be most prominent this morning. As the morning goes along, the areas of snow will gradually sink toward the south. By late morning into early afternoon, the snow should begin to diminish. For the most part, the snowflakes that fall will be small and dry. This is the type of snow that can blow around on roads. However, radar has been showing heavier snow in west central Arkansas and the Ouachita Mountain region. I have seen visibilities as low as 1.5 miles at Mount Ida. Clearly, snow of this intensity is sufficient to coat roads and cause slippery driving conditions for awhile. Early next week, we will need to watch northern Arkansas to see if we end up with any winter weather. Moisture will definitely return by then. The question at this point is how much temperatures can warm up before the moisture arrives.
