Tuesday we came home from our family trip to find out our dog, Bandit, had a slipped disc in his back and had no feeling in his back legs or use of his bowels. We were so heart broken and after talking with the vet and given our options, decided to forgo surgery because of the great expense ($4000-5000) to our family. So, we are trying laser therapy and steroids for the next few days to see if that will help reduce inflammation and stimulate nerve activity in hopes he will regain feeling in his hind legs. Please keep us in your thoughts as we try our best to help him recover. If no change or improvement by the first of the week, we will have a tough decision to make :( He is such a good, friendly, and gentle dog.
