Turn this dark maddening charge All you I once knew.. We are snagged like moths in the still web of younger days... We Rise up from the fresh white foam In the face of our seaward plunge, Howl against our wild run, and these wild blazing eyes - but hear the call, Of how life once had been with such heat. In the the chirr of crickets rubbing, The high grasses of a childs road, Summer was unending.. The days refused to close Ad we played Savage and warrior, the heroic nail Upon which worlds wobbled. Blue as newborn iron - these salt winds were yet to blow And sink corrosive teeth Into our stolid spines and stiffened ribs - it would take the weight Of a thousand golden destinies Where are you now, my unlined faces On those rich shining summers When we gods ruled feral the wilding world? Can we be but Hollow husks spinning On frayed threads of silk, So lost in the worlds wake... Those that run with us in this blind stampede - this charge that cannot turn. The sea awaiting - waits with promise of dissolution, The fraying of youthful days, Savagery gone, The broken nails, sagging ribs - The summers drifting away And away..
