UPDATE: KX BF GLST - NEW FIELD REPORT OF TWO PRIOR BF EVENTS 01 14 2014. - The first event (01) was witnessed by a young boy who immediately ran inside the house from the back deck to report what he had just seen and convey his conviction as to its size, quickness and reality. This (01) occurred one evening in June of 2013, some time after dark. The boy was outside on the deck, which is elevated and overlooks a large flat dry river bed with steep barren and eroded banks. Suddenly and with little noise something very, very tall ran swiftly W NW (right to left) across his view N NE along the edge of the arroyo behind the deck. Excited he told his story about a human looking, all dark subject, fully erect and in full against the light desert sand. His parents and elders present told him it was just someone running by... But he remained insistent and stern to what he had seen... Something huge, far taller than an man, run by at tremendous speed through the darkness while making little noise. This sighting (1) happened less than 1/4 of a mile from the full body daylight BF sighting I reported in the previous GLST update. And in this (1) sighting the subject was headed directly toward not only the area of our research area GLST W but in line with the same spot as the daylight full body sighting. Both (1) and the full body daylight sighting happened in June/July of 2013 adding to other reports coming in from that area around the same time and continuing through my last investigation 01 14 2014. I should add that this boy (8-9) is not like most and was raised not only on good values by honest people but was as well brought up living on this same river system by those who raise and train horses and live close to the land. This was related to me me by his grandfather, Chicken-Tom, a horse trainer and wrangler, Beyond equestrianism, a true southwest renascence man, Very intelligent and well spoken. He regarded the boys story with validity. Tom knows the animals on his land and the surrounding areas. Being a horse trainer, he is often traveling the lands of the area working on many ranches/ stables etc... Well This takes us to encounter number (2) of this update. A couple weeks ago, around 01 01 2014, he was working up-stream several miles from one of our GLST study areas and finally had the chance to hear a full BF vocal session from less than 1 mi upstream. The event occurred about 1 hour before sunset. I asked what he heard? He smiled, shook his lowered head and stated simply... It sounded un-earthly, like nothing I have ever heard ! It was like a loud scream or ... yell ... Having great depth to the vocal. Tom described the same long yell/howl I have been able to record many times associated with the BF activity. A long and very strong sustained tone around 800hz dropping to around 400hz at the end, with a slight after whoop. Then a pause of many minutes before repeating the same long howl/yell... Tom stated this happened over and over several times before finally stopping. It was clear the entire encounter (2) was moving and memorable for Tom. But when he asked the landowner who was there what it may be, he/she just shrugged and expressed no noticeable curiosity... ??? This surprised Tom and myself as well when told. People just think, oh its a wolf or a cat or a bear or whatever... And never even give it a second thought .... It takes experienced ears to realize just how special and rare these vocalizations are. Most out there are new to the area and not at all familiar with the high desert/alpine flora/fauna. This valley was largely abandoned and un-broken since Spanish colonial occupation/ revolt of 1680. Now being subdivided with up-scale, new-school homes of horse owners. Most came from the city attempting to live the western dream. Or a Hollywood-designed western illusion to be more accurate. This is actually good for the BF in a way. As movement through these areas and food acquisition will not be noticed these days as it would have been by the old school stewards of the land who knew every sound, every animal and every track. They had to to survive as did the natives and others before them. The previous experienced and knowing peoples knew of the BF as another fact of the environment wherever they existed. And they recognized the anomalous nature of the evidence when left behind or experienced. Like the mysterious Howl/yell heard by Tom, and many other exact matches heard all over North America.... As Chicken Tom stated (and others who know the native animals sounds) It was no cat, no bear, wolf, elk or like anything else I have ever heard!... This statement should not be taken lightly, as it comes from persons of uncompromising integrity, who actually know* the difference.
