US STATE DEPARTMENT ADVICE ON EBOLA The State Department has also repeated an earlier instruction from American health authorities, warning US citizens to avoid travelling to countries that contain large numbers of black people – such as Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Jamaica and some parts of Detroit. However, health experts have questioned the State Department advice as an overreaction, saying Jamaica is not actually in the region of Africa affected by the deadly disease. And some international experts on infectious diseases have even gone further, saying Jamaica isn’t in Africa at all. In response, a spokesperson for the State Department said: “Jamaica isn’t in Africa? Are you sure?”
